Can't connect to remote database

Issue Summary

Can’t connect to remote DB from my windows machine. Works perfectly fine from ChromeOS devices.

Troubleshooting Questions

All local sites, but only on my Windows laptop

  • Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser?
    Yes

Replication

I create a database on my Dedicated Server with Liquid Web. I go to Remote Database, and add my IP address allowing this IP to connect to that database.

Then I setup a WordPress install using Local by FlyWheel.

Edit the wp-config.php file with the remote database information.

Try visiting the site, and you get the ol’ “Error establishing a database connection”.

Yes I’ve double, triple, quadruple checked the information, it’s not a typo. I know what I’m doing.

This works perfectly fine on my Chromebox and my Chromebook.

System Details

  • Which version of Local is being used?
    Whatever the latest is

  • What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used?
    Windows 10 Professionallocal-lightning.log (96.7 KB)

  • Attach the Local Log. See this Community Forum post for instructions on how to do so:

Any news here?

I got the same problem over and over again

Nope, nobody from support has been able to help me with this

Sad!!

When i migrate my site to my hosting, it works for me when i connect to a db on another server - it has to be a local issue.

Many people want to do this, they should make as a feature.
