is updating the wordpress database going to blow up my LbF install?
i can’t recall seeing this before, ever.

thanks, question is will it affect my LbF install. furthermore, why didn’t the staging site require such an update and only the local install? they’re identical, supposedly.
Theoretically this obviously effects your database. But the update is required by WP 5.4.
I have zero idea why your staging site didn’t require this. Perhaps the 2 sites are not as identical as you think.
thank you, all of the information you’ve shared is stated in the alert dialogue provided by the notification. what i’m asking, again, is if there’s a negative effect on my LbF install.
i can’t afford to lose the install and am afraid to update.
I know what you’re asking. I’m trying to tell you that this has nothing to do with Local. Make a backup, have piece of mind.
here’s the first reply i got from FB:
“I get that periodically. I always trepidatiously push update and it’s never blown up yet. But backup, backup, backup.”
i found the above quite helpful, if not a genuine relief. one reply to my question and done. i say thank you. we go our merry way. there for others to see if they ever face the same situation.
sometimes it’s not about sharing how much you know, but empathizing with folks and providing some encouragement.
don’t get me wrong by sharing this with you. i’m very grateful for your replies. perhaps not for the reason you intended, but grateful, nonetheless.
