Local won't open

Hi there,

For some reason Local is suddenly refusing to open. I had it open and running a couple hours ago, shut down, went for lunch, came back and nothing…

I double click the icon on my desktop, the Local icon pops up in the task bar, and then just gets stuck.

I have attached the log file and it seems there are add ons missing. Hopefully you will be able to help out!

Hi there - another user recently reported a similar issue that we were able to help with, try these steps and see if that works for you:

Did both. Restarted, uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted again, tried bringing the off screen window back. Still nothing.

Shut down and started up again. And nothing again. :frowning:

Is there anything in the logs?

Hi Michael,

Sorry for the trouble!

Just to be clear, there’s no visible Local window at all? Not even a window with a loading indicator?

Hi Clay,

Things happen. Attached is a screenshot. Icon pops up on the task bar. When I hover over it there’s a white screen. Been like that for 10 minutes now.

Move or cascade windows does nothing.

Also attached the logs again. Seems this is where it’s going wrong:

Thanks for that!

As far as those log entries go, that’s a bit of noise in the log files that we need to resolve but it should not be causing Local to whitescreen like that.

When you installed Local, did you install it for all users or just the user you’re logged in as?

No problem, Clay.

It’s not even whitescreening, really. Half the time when I hover over the task bar it just stays gray (see screenshot).

I went back to installing 5.2.7 and same thing.

I installed it just for the user I’m logged in as. It normally worked this way without any issues. But now it just does nothing.

Tried installing it for all users and no luck either.

Installed all versiones back to 5.2.7 and nothing is working.

Hey, having a similar issue where I’m sharing the live link and it’s not showing images. How do you suggest resolving?
