Open Site Shell not connecting

I’m running Local by Flywheel 5.6.2 on macOS Catalina 10.15.5. I’m currently trying to follow the guide of How do I compile additional php extensions. When I click ‘Open Site Shell’ the Terminal app opens, but I am still on my local system:

Is this behavior correct? How can I install the php extension (SOLR) then?
