Taking a site live has never been easier!
Get started by downloading Local* for free (available for Mac, Windows, and Linux).
*Be sure to download the latest version of Local, as the Connect to WP Engine feature is only compatible with the most recent release!
Navigate to the Connect tab in Local to log in (or sign up!) with your WP Engine account.
Local will ask for an API Username and Password, which you can generate by following this help doc.
Once connected, you can push local sites up to an existing plan, or easily pull a copy of a live site to local environment for offline editing!

Nope! You can use Local Community with any host and when you’re ready to connect to WP Engine, all you’ll need is a WP Engine account.

Nope! In fact, you can Connect to multiple hosts, so it’s totally up to you which one your site goes to when it’s time to go live!
